Smashbox Under Eye Brightner, Photo Op. Mar 04, 2010 Sucked as well as the other product I bought from Smashbox. Felt like really soft lotion with no color this was not the goal of the product. It is suppose to be an under eye brightner. Still waiting for a refund as well on this one.
for medium or darker skin only Jan 28, 2010 This under eye brightener is similar to a lot of products that are marketed as concealers. I think that calling it a brightener is a lot more accurate. What these products do is put on a bit of semi-sheer skin tone color. And stirred into that product is a bunch of finely milled mica powder. Those little bits of mica reflect light.
The packaging is nice. I use the brush to dab a little on the back of my hand, then I use either a flat concealer brush or a very soft dome brush to apply the product.
This is great to use under the eyes to lighten a dark area. I think it is nice on the high cheekbone area and on the cupids bow and under the nostrils.
I have two complaints about the product though:
1) it isn't light enough to use on my fair skin. It is at least a shade or two darker.
2) the product doesn't set well. It remains greasy or slightly wet even when used in small amounts. That is not what you want under your eyes where it can mix wit mascara or eye liner. I recommend setting this product with silica powder or another very finely milled translucent product.

Eye brightener Jul 09, 2009 I think this is a great eye brightener. There is a shimmer in it that can be shiny. I usually put it on before my foundation. I think it works really well and would buy it again.

Brighten Up Apr 22, 2009 I used this entire bottle and plan to use again. The product is easy to use as it has a brush inside the cap. Just brush in the areas you want to use it and press into the skin. I use this mostly under my eyes. I do not feel the product is too shiny or glittery. I do generally use an additional concealer under my eyes if I have dark circles, otherwise the Photo Op alone is sufficient.

Shimmery and Expensive May 05, 2008 I didn't realize this had shimmer in it until someone was like "do you have glitter on your face?" So in certain light, you can see the shimmer. It works pretty well, but I really didn't notice a huge difference, so I've stopped using it for the most part. It is a nice little tube that is easy to carry around, and it's easy to apply, but for my under eye circles, I got the Bare Escentuals concealer in Summer Bisque and I wear Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening powder (I think it's called?) over it. There's a little shimmer in the Summer Bisque, but the brightening powder covers it and my under eye area looks much brighter without the shimmer.
